Commissioned Portraiture of an Adults or Children
I really enjoy doing Portraits, and it takes a lot of skill and many, many hours of time to obtain a good likeness, including capturing that special sense of character and individuality - their own ‘spirit’. A lot of character is shown in the eyes (this is actually true of both people and animals alike!) - and I pride myself on being able to find and portray that essence and life unique to the subject I am depicting.
The examples below show both the original photograph, and a scan or photograph of the completed portrait. I will work from your photograph, which has to be of a reasonable size and nice and clear - an exact likeness cannot be obtained from a small or blurry image.
Portraits of People or of People and their Pets are often done in Graphite/Charcoal, Coloured Pencils and Pastels (prices for portraits in Oils or Acrylics can be quoted if desired). Unfortunately, I do not currently have any coloured Portrait images on this page yet… (I have not always had the digital camera), but hope to get some organized soon.
THE COMPLETED PORTRAIT IS SUCH A DELIGHTFUL GIFT FOR SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL, OR ALTERNATIVELY, IS A WONDERFUL KEEPSAKE OF OUR LOVED ONES!
Each Portrait sold will come with a 'Certificate of Authenticity' - a very desirable addition to the painting when given as a gift to a loved one, or when keeping as an item to treasure and to hold as an investment for the future.
The portraits are not framed, although they have will have been sprayed with a professional fixative for protection, and will also be covered with glassine paper, it is however, advisable to have them framed as soon as possible after completion - I can supply very competitively priced frames if desired. |

A very lovely lady commissioned this portrait of her father and her two gorgeous little boys as a 60th Birthday gift for her mother. It was a large piece, which looked stunning when completed and framed. (Unfortunately it doesn’t show as well in the photograph above as it actually looked in real life).
This very special gift made her mum very happy and it is something she will treasure for the rest of her life! Emma was delighted with this portrait, and has since left another very happy comment in my Guestbook. |

This one was a Christmas present, commissioned by the lady of the house to give to her husband (Vaughan, pictured) for Christmas, showing him with Dolly, their much loved and spoilt Pekingese. |

A Portrait of a Person and a Pet Together
I am also offering a Portrait of either a child or an adult (usually a head and upper body view) with a pet (dog, cat, bird, horse etc. either upper body or whole body, depending on the size etc.) , executed with skill and precision in Graphite and/or Charcoal, Coloured Pencils and/or Pastels. Portraits in Oils or Acrylics are also available and are priced individually upon request.
