Other Fine Art
|
|
Along with my Portraits of People and Animals, and my Artwork depicting animals, I have also executed and sold paintings which are harder to categorize, but which fall into the ‘Fine Art’ category. Nearly all of my Artwork will still have some ‘life’ in it …. A landscape will usually have birds, street scenes have people, parks and trees have people around and under…. Here are a few more to look at….. |

|
‘Passing Time’ Oil on stretched canvas.
This is still one of my favourites! |
|
‘The Old Craftsman’ Oil on canvas covered board.
I do love the subject matter of this one... |

|
‘Time to Rest’ Oil on stretched canvas.
This was a miniature, and was framed in a beautiful old gold coloured frame with a deep linen insert, and looked really stunning! |

‘Promises’
Mixed Media (White Ink and Pastel) on a black support and framed under glass.

This unusual and eye-catching picture is shown here as it was displayed in my last exhibition.
I was inspired to paint it after reading the following quote by Chief Red Cloud of the Oglala Sioux.
‘They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; They promised to take our land, and they took it’. |

‘Going Over the Top’
Watercolours, beneath a narrow olive mount and under glass.

I have a strong interest in World War One, particularly through the Artwork, and the Poets — especially Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen.
Through a lot of reading about what these poor people (from any country!) had to go through, and the horrors of the trench warfare, I was inspired to paint this picture. It is not showing a specific battle or place, rather, it is my Artistic representation of the tragedy of 'GOING OVER THE TOP' |
